Synapse RF200PF1 with F-type Antenna :: Solarbotics

interesting alternative to xbee. runs python. more user GPIOs.  Lower power consumption.  Easier to use apparently.  Longer Range.  No whip antenna to get in the way.
truly standalone with no micro needed.

RF Digital Corporation

RF Digital Corporation:

awesome little radio i should use for quad copter or replacement for xbees.  Quite a bit cheaper and look to be easier to use potentially.
nice and small and light and lower power consumption.  has a cool radio where the antenna and rf module are integrated together in one package.  could make a remote with serial output.  20ms delay is pretty fast for a link.
much faster than bluetooth.  only problem is can't control from phone...

PCB Order | DorkbotPDX

link came from http://www.ladyada.net/library/pcb/manufacturers.html
they review a bunch of board houses that are decent.

the one below looks the best for quick turn around and cheap.  get 3 boards @ $5 square inch.  9 days to get it back. not too shabby. shipping included, not setup fee and decent pcb design rules

The world reacting to a new perspective: Neil deGrasse Tyson. [VIDEO]

Why do we spend so much money on Space exploration and Nasa?  This ought to put it in perspective.  Less than 1% of the gov budget is spent on space.  I think it's a small price to pay.

Why we have blind spots - and how to see the blood vessels inside your own eye! - YouTube

Cool little video about why they're there and demo's of how to notice them.  Also cool explanation of why stuff gets hazy on periphery when staring at object for awhile.
also shows how eye resolution gets worse as it moves from center of focus and that's why when looking at words at edge can't quite make them out.

Line Graph Component in C# - CodeProject®

Great c# library.  tried to use dynamic data display but couldn't get it to import the controls for some reason. so I gave up and went back to this.  was pretty simple to get running.  it would be nice if it provided a min and max value to graph.  I guess you could scale the data but then the data becomes meaningless.
